Winter in Waipu is a collection of interesting and fun events held in Waipu during June and July each year. Waipu's Scottish heritage is also celebrated with a number of Tartan events which celebrate the 1782 repeal of the Act of Proscription .

Winter in Waipu 2018 - The Vet Centre People and Pets Parade

Put on your tartan, grab your pet and gather at the Pizza Barn for a 11am parade through The Centre to the Vet Centre for a sausage sizzle and prizes. Waipu Community Arts is excited to offer some workshops for the school holidays. On during the holidays on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays of both weeks. 10am-12pm at Haven Art -99 The Centre, Waipu. Winter in Waipu 2018 - Waipu Cycleway Night Trail

Fun for all the family on this year's Night Trail. You can walk, run or bike while you have some good old fashioned family fun. $5 per Family. Spot prizes for best-decorated bikes, prams, walkers, poles etc. For sale glowing trinkets, sausage sizzle, food, hot drinks and raffles. Entertainment will be set up along the lit up trail. Please make sure children under 14 are accompanied by an adult. Assemble on the night at the NSP Carpark at the beginning of the cycleway at 5pm to decorate your wheels. Your journey along the trail begins at 5.45pm.

We wrap up a month of activiites with the fiercely contested shortbread making competition. Who will get the coveted prize of best shortbread this year? Will it be you? The 4 categories are: Lads, Lassies, Kiddies (primary aged) and Novelty. Bring your entries on the day between 11am-12pm for judging.
