Te Araroa - History
Te Araroa is New Zealand's continuous walking track. Stretching for 3000km from Cape Reinga to Bluff the trail would take 5 months to complete. Waipu is lucky enough to host a small part of the trail.
Te Araroa is unique in that it is designed to connect townships, settlements and cities enabling travellers to experience the culture, food and social aspects of New Zealand. It also enables cultural encounters such as Marae stays and other important cultural and historic experiences.
Through the trail the beauty and nature of New Zealand are found from the volcanoes, mountains, rivers and lakes.
It is an epic trail and a spectacular achievement for New Zealand and the tourist industry. For more information visit the dedicated website for the Te Araroa Trail.
