Waipu and the surrounding areas are full of interesting places to visit. Waipu itself is full of history and Waipu museum is classed as New Zealands Best Small Museum and is well worth a visit when you have enough time to take all the history in. There are abundant walks within the area, Waipu caves is a wonderful place to visit and there are scenic walking tracks around them. Waipu Cove, Langs Beach and Uretiti beaches are all in the immediate vicinity of Waipu and are very popular all year round.
